About Krillion

Krillion is a free daily browser word game in which every player receives the same seven open prompts and scores points by naming valid answers that few other players would think of. [community-tiers]

The daily dive

Each day brings the same seven prompts to every player, and any valid answer counts. Rarer answers earn more points, and every point takes you 10 metres down a dive that reaches the trench floor at 7,000 m. [community-tiers]

Answers are sorted into six tiers. One in a Krillion scores 100, Deep Cut 85, Rare 60, Schooler 30, Too Clever 15 and Plankton 10. [community-tiers]

The gem and the tiers

The Too Clever tier is described as the go-to obscure pick that is not actually that obscure, and it scores only 5 points more than Plankton. [official-faq][community-tiers]

How answer sets and rarity are made

Answer sets are curated by aggregating datasets such as dictionaries, wiki pages and encyclopedias, then merging and cleaning the result into one answer set. [official-faq]

Getting started

Krillion is played in the browser at krillion.io. The creator describes it as a solo project under the pseudonym kp, and says an app and multiplayer are planned eventually. [community-tiers][official-faq]
