Overview

In Black Rose, the player takes the role of Linda, who enters a secluded abandoned funeral home said to be haunted to learn what happened to the people who once worked there. The game is a first-person survival horror title from Sir Bedlam Productions, released on 12 March 2016 and offered free to play. Scoring is built around Close Calls rather than kills or item collection. [steam-store]

How Close Calls Works

A Close Call is earned by moving near the enemy without being caught. The score climbs while the enemy is dangerously close, so the aim is to collect as many Close Calls as possible. The first enemy is described as volatile and will catch a player who lingers nearby too long, so Close Calls against it should be kept short. [official-manual]
